I recently had the chance to read the entire 4-issue comic book limited series when Seraph lent his copies to me. It's been with me for weeks and I only had the chance to read it yesterday because it was a holiday. I loved it! I love everything about it....the art, the storyline..the packaging.
Marvels was written by Kurt Buseik and illustrated by Alex Ross. It was set sometime in the 1940s to the 19970s. The entire storyline was told in the eyes of Phil Sheldon, a news photographer. I found it brilliant. I've never read a marvel comic told in this perspective before and it definitely gave a different insight into the glorified world of the Marvels. Even the graphic art deviated from the usual "look" of the illustrations in the comics.
Once I started reading I couldn't put it down, and I finished the entire series in one sitting. I can't wait to finish the next graphic novel that I have in line to read - Civil War. I just know I'll enjoy reading it too.
