I had loads of fun trying out cartoonized and stylized versions of me using various online services. For those of you who do not know, an avatar is a user's computer generated 2D or 3D representation of himself in an image, icon or text, used in various forums, messengers, blogs and online communities.
Here are some services that I found most interesting to use.
I got manganized! (LOL) The candy-colored vector graphics makes this avatar very very appealing. This was the closest look alike that I got.
This brought me back to the days when I was still very addicted to South Park. Here's a toon version of me, although I couldn't find the right length of hair.
This became popular way way back, I think back to the time of the release of the Simpsons movie. Unlike the above converters, Simpsonize Me requires you to upload your own headshot picture and generates an avatar from there. After several tweaking, I finally got the look that I wanted. Check it out.
Most of these sites are pretty self-explanatory and you wouldn't get lost with technical jargon. Have fun and enjoy creating!
What other sites have you used to create an avatar?
