If you're craving for affordable Italian food, then this is the restaurant just for you. It is located at the 4th level of the newly opened Atrium at SM Megamall. The name of the restaurant was inspired by the Italian mafia and of the cinematic figures of the Godfathers. Gotti was supposed to be a fictitious character created to offer comic relief.
The Interiors
Although the space was quite small, effective use of furniture layout and smart maximizing of the seat capacity allows for an uncluttered and homey look. The traditional brick-layered walls of classic-styled pizzerias in Italy are mimicked here but added with a twist of contemporary in the form of the white chairs prominent in the restaurant. Lighting is a little bit subdued but not too dim. Just perfect for casual conversations.
The calamares was cooked just right. The squid was tender and the batter crisp and light. The tartar sauce dip was also of the right blend. This was the perfect appetizer.
Their thin-crust four-cheese pizza reminded me a little of the Amici pizza that I also loved. Added with a sprinkle of chili flakes and yummm!
The angel hair pasta with the Venetian Fish fillet is something to rave about too.
Although I didn't try the seafood pasta with focaccia bread, my friend said it was quite good too. The red sauce wasn't too overpowering and the seafood were cooked just right as well.
For dessert, we ordered banana crepe with nutella and vanilla ice cream. I wish they've placed more nutella though then this would have been perfect.

Love, love, love the simplistic approach but affordable price and yummo-ness of the pastas, pizza, and most of all the caesar salad. Italian cooking to me should be simple and tasty. Sauces should not be acidic, not sweet, but garlicky, and who can forget the basil. These are all present in Gotti's food.
I make my own caesar's salad dressing and this surely passed the test.
Buon apettito!
