Along with the launch of the GoGear line of MP3 players, Philips also announced its hosting of a Virtual Battle of the Bands. Amateur bands are invited to upload their recent performances via YouTube at the Bandwidth account (click this link). Bands will have to perform two original songs and upload a video for each song on the said YouTube channel. Visitors to this site will be allowed to vote for their favorite band and performances.
The uploaded videos will be screened by 3 mentors and judges: Francis Reyes (NU 107.5 DJ and former guitarist for The Dawn), Cookie Chua (singer for Color it Red) and Raimund Marasigan (vocalist for Sandwich, keyboardist for Pedicab, drummer for Cambio and The Eraserheads) Finalists will then have a chance to showcase their talents in public on a final performance night. Grand prize winner will take home a prize of Php50,000.00 worth of cash and prizes.
