For Blogger users, you can always just go to your dashboard and to your blog’s page element page. By clicking on “add a gadget”, you can select from the default and sponsored widgets that blogger offers. There is a widget available there from blogger buster. That is what I’ve tried before but the pronunciation marks don’t always show correctly so I was forced to find an alternative hack.
I’ve used the “add feed” page element instead as you can see here in my blog page. This works much better for me. Here’s how to add it to your BLogger blog:
- Go to the page elements setup page in your Blogger dashboard.
- Click on “add a gadget” link in the column where you want the comments to appear in.
- On the window dialog that pops up, look for the “add a feed” link and click the blue plus sign alongside it.
- Enter your blog’s feed url on the space indicated. The format should look like this…
http://yourblogurl/feeds/comments/default?alt=rss
- Click Continue.
- You have the option to change the title of the widget into whatever you like. I’ve changed mine into a “comment board.”
- Save your changes.
The downside though is I wanted a floating widget where you can customize the colors and have a more web 2.0ish kind of look. I haven’t found one that’s without bugs so the search continues. For the meantime, this will do.
