When I first saw the teaser trailer for
Up months ago, I initially thought that it would be about the adventures of an old man who finally got tired of the hustle and bustle of life in the city, unconsciously bringing along a kid with him in his flying house. Well I thought that was just it but when I finally got to see the movie, it was so much more.
Up is movie about the realization of a childhood dream. To go on an adventure towards Paradise Falls and build a house by the waterfall. This dream was shared by Mrs. Ellie and Mr. Carl Fredericksen. They were following in the footsteps of their idolized adventurer, Charles Muntz. The journey to Paradise Falls is really where the fun began. The laughs were provided when Russel and Dug entered the picture.

Why I cried.
I'm a sucker for romance and the lifestory that Carl shared with Ellie was too much for my heart to bear. Hahaha Shamefully I shed a few tears. I was really touched. Deep in my heart I'm wishing to be able to share a part of my life like that with someone special as well. The ending part made me cry as well. (Yeah yeah call me a crybaby) A man who doomed himself for the rest of his life alone found new meaning and companionship with Russel. That's a bond that will never be broken.

Learnings.

You have the power to make your dreams come true. However impossible it may seem, everything that you need to achieve it is in your hands. The other themes that were shown here were persistence and compassion. Persistence because they never gave up their dream, even if they were getting old, the quest for adventure was still there. Compassion was shown when each of the characters were giving enough to give care and regard to the need of others.

I loved this movie and I know I would never get tired of watching this over and over again. If you haven't yet, this movie is a must-see. Oh and bring tissues with you.
