Gummi bears (gummy bears in some countries) are popular chewy, rubbery-textured candies in the form of colorful bears. The candy originated from Germany invented by Hans Riegel of Bonn who also started the company Haribo in 1922. They produced the first Gold-bear products in the 1960s. Trolli is another popular gummi candy manufacturer and the first to introduce gummi worms in 1981. (source)
