Everyday as I check my Facebook feed, I always see updates of friends buying other people for I don't know what. I must admit it got me curious. What's the deal with this Friends for Sale app and why are people so addicted with it?
Friends for Sale is created by Serious Business founders Siqi Chen and Alex Le. The premise of the game is simple, you buy your friends and make them your pets. Once you've bought a "pet", you can rename them, give them gifts and do odd sort of jobs for you. This can add to their retail value. You earn money when other people buy your pets.
I've seen a lot of my friends get addicted with this one. I don't really see how it gets addicting but it's probably because of the challenge of raising your market value. It can capture your interest in the beginning but once the novelty of the game wears off, unless the developers add some new exciting features, I guess this trend will see its downfall.
