At first glance, Hello Kitty Online is an MMORPG which allows players to interact with loved Sanrio Characters, explore Sanrio Land and socialize with currently addicted Hello Kitty players as well.

You start off by creating and customizing your character. The game offers limitless options to recolor hair, skin and dress up your game avatar to your liking. You can access your character stats via the character screen so that you can see what skills you're currently leveling up on. You gain levels by performing quests and mini-games offered by various NPCs in the form of famous Sanrio Characters found on several areas of the map.

Aside from the traditional RPG system, you can also play with the additional features built-into the gameplay.

Farming - allows you to grow your own crops and nurture your own farm to show off

Pet System - you can gain a pet that can follow you around while you do quests around town by getting random pet cards. Of course, different pets offer different skill levels and talents

Item collection and Crafting - most of the quests involve gathering certain ingredients so that you can get books with skill rewards allowing you to craft certain items that are needed as equipments or on quests

Guild System - players can choose from 6 Sanrio characters who will stand as their guild guardian. The guild you belong to will be shown as an emblem to your profile. There are also special sets of emoticons exclusive only to members of the guild.

The gameworld stays true to the "Sanrio" feel of graphics. The eye candy and design of the characters and world components makes for a bright and cute world to quest upon. You can really waste several hours performing quest upon quests and it's easy to get lost in this world.
