For browsing the internet, I'm a serious Firefox user and although it hogs more of my PC resources it still is my browser of choice. The one thing that gives it more points than the others are the add-ons I can install to make it more productive and safe for me to browse the web. Here are a list of staple add-ons that I have in my firefox.

WOT WOT (Web of Trust) - This keeps my internet browsing safe. It helps me avoid dangerous sites by flashing a warning window and giving it a rating of red (the usual rating for a safe site is green). It also warns me of risky websites that scam visitors, deliver malware or send spam.

Xmarks - This probably is the one add-on I cannot live without. I use several computers, one in the office, one desktop here at home and one laptop. It's important for me to keep bookmarks between browsers very well synchronized. I probably have 2K and up bookmarks now and counting, I keep them sorted into categories and subfolders using this add-on and I can access them easily using any of the computers I have.

images Adblock Plus - When browsing, I don't want annoying pop-ups bothering me..this add-on does just that. It stops ad windows from popping up and it also gives you the option to block running ads on a webpage by choosing to block it.

1251693473 Webmail Notifier - I don't want to keep opening new browser tabs just to keep checking my inboxes every now and then especially because I have multiple email accounts. This add-on puts a little icon at the bottom of your browser as indicator of the unread emails that you have. Plus you get notified when new mail comes in. It supports gmail, yahoo, hotmail, daum and many more.

1174607013 Download Statusbar - Sometimes I do get annoyed by the download window that pops up while I'm browsing, this addon keeps the progress bar of the file I'm downloading within the browser itself. It also gives you the option to pause and restore downloads.

215 Google Preview - Not really necessary but it gives thumbnail images of the websites you've searched for but this gives me a way of knowing that I'm clicking on the right website when I'm not sure of the URL.

4307 TabMix plus - For research, I have to have several browsing tabs open at once. This gives me the option to show my tabs in multi-row instead of having to access them by side-scrolling. It also has the option to undo closed tabs and windows. As a plus, the session manager makes it easy for me to save all the opened tabs that I need to get back to.

Are you a firefox user? What add-ons do you have that you find useful?

Nice list :) I use Download Statusbar too.

I use Google Redesigned for a better looking Gmail and Reader. Then there's TabRenamizer - it re-labels tabs so that instead of Plurk, it reads Google - or something like that. :D

@thegiornale, thanks I'll try out Google Redesigned and see if I'll like it, although I don't have a use for TabRenamizer, I'll check it out too.
