I was rushing to a meeting yesterday morning and while driving through the SM Marikina underpass access road to Industrial Valley, I was surprised to see the huge mounds of mud and garbage still piled up under the Marcos Bridge. This was the debris accumulated from the devastation left by Ondoy about a month ago. Yes most of the mud and garbage was cleaned up on most parts of Marikina but I was just surprised that there were still a whole lot left, it was just hidden under there.
I cringed my nose even though I couldn’t smell anything from the outside. Just thinking how smelly it was outside made me grossed out. James, my officemate said that there could still be bodies left under there because there were still missing people. I shuddered more at that thought. Yes Ondoy was indeed a really horrible memory and this just proves that. Life goes on still.
I looked at my car’s dashboard clock, shoot we’re going to be late. I stepped on the gas and speeded towards Las Pinas.
