Daring Lollipop Flavors

Wednesday, April 30, 2014 , 0 Comments

Before going to see a movie, I make it a point to pass by the candy store just so I could see if I could buy some of my favorite candy tape to munch on. At the candy store, there are jars and jars of brightly colored and temptingly sweet candies and just a few lollipops. I’ve always thought that a cola-flavored lollipop was the most adventurous flavor I’ve seen, that was until I chanced upon a feature article featuring Lollyphile. It’s a candy company that goes beyond the normal in creating exotic flavors for their lollipops. See here, they’ve got green tea flavored lollys.

Tired of Candy Crush? Try Cookie Jam

Monday, April 28, 2014 , , 0 Comments

Sometime ago, I was among the millions who were swept by the Candy Crush trend and for a while I became a Candy Crush addict myself. Then the levels became overly intense and difficult and people started to play less and less. Since you need friends giving you tickets to get to the next set of levels, it’s quite hard when your Facebook friends have stopped playing. It had been awhile (a loooong while) since I last opened the game.  Now along comes Cookie Jam, another matching game that might be a strong contender as an alternative to Candy Crush. You might notice several similarities but you might want to give it a fair shot.

Andrew Garfield Dons the Spidey Suit Once Again

Friday, April 25, 2014 , 0 Comments

While wearing the Spider-Man suit, Peter Parker feels that he can take on the world. He leaves behind the worries and stresses of his everyday life and does with zeal what he’s known for – keeping New York city safe. As the superhero that he has admired since he was a little boy, Andrew Garfield feels as excited as can be to reprise his role as Spider-Man. Even when his acceptance of the role was met with backlash, he proved everyone wrong when the first installment of the rebooted franchise came out.

Taking Care of Chapped Lips with the Colour Collection Lip Therapy

Wednesday, April 23, 2014 , 0 Comments

One of the beauty problems that I have is dry, chapped lips. So aside from the mandatory moisturizer in my daily skin care routine, I also make sure that I pay extra special attention to my lips. After all, accidentally causing your lips to crack is no fun, right? This is why I’m loving the Colour Collection Lip Therapy that I got from the Colour Collection Exclusive Elite BDJ Box.

Excited to See Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Sunday, April 20, 2014 , 0 Comments

Ever since I saw her brilliant performance in Easy A, I had become a huge Emma Stone fan. Her current film resume includes Zombieland, Crazy Stupid Love, The Help and most recently, as Gwen Stacy in the recent reboot of the Spider-Man movie franchise. Now she’s back reprising that very same role in the upcoming movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 starring opposite real life beau – Andrew Garfield.

The Grand Budapest Hotel Movie Review

Saturday, April 19, 2014 , 0 Comments

Have you ever felt a connection to a place that you feel saddened that most people didn’t get to see it? It was a feeling of nostalgia and melancholy that opened the first few scenes of The Grand Budapest Hotel, a movie directed by Wes Anderson. Then the movie slowly eases you to the people that made the place worth staying at and it’s like being let on a wonderful secret. At least, that’s how I felt watching this quiet and alluring masterpiece and it’s not a mystery anymore why it got such critical acclaim.

2014 Book Review #8: Contagious by Scott Sigler

Saturday, April 19, 2014 , 0 Comments

The first book in Scott Sigler’s Infected Trilogy remains to be one of the most memorable books that I’ve read so far. He has created a character that I wouldn’t have pegged to be a hero and yet I couldn’t wait to see what’s next for Perry Dawsey. The first book was very graphic and for the second book, I couldn’t expect nothing less.

The Love Punch

Sunday, April 13, 2014 , 0 Comments

What do you plan to do with the rest of your life? For Richard (Pierce Brosnan) and Jerry (Timothy Spall), that means no more work responsibilities to stress over, all-day swings at the golf club and no more financial worries. Come to think of it, it’s almost similar to everyone else’s dream retirement. What would you feel if someone snatches that dream away from you? That was the plot premise for The Love Punch. It’s a movie that I saw last week through an advanced screening that I didn’t expect to be a fun and hilarious wild ride. I loved that it was also a light and meaningful look into what makes a relationship/marriage work.

The Songs, Laughs and Blue Macaws of Rio 2

Thursday, April 10, 2014 , 0 Comments

I had the opportunity to watch Rio 2 last weekend and I couldn’t help but get into a festive mood as we were greeted by Nico and Pedro before we went in the theater. Since I had loved the first movie, I was ready for some great music and see more birds. I also couldn’t wait to see how Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) and Jewel (Anne Hathaway) were doing now that they have kids.

2014 Book Review #7: Second Honeymoon by James Patterson and Howard Roughan

Wednesday, April 09, 2014 , 0 Comments

When it comes to crime and mystery novels, James Patterson has become a household name. I’ve grown to love two of his lead characters, Lindsay Boxer and Alex Cross in two of his most successful book series and now it looks like I’m going to add one more to that list. FBI Agent John O’ Hara is proving to be interesting and brilliant and this new series is shaping up to be a great one as well.

Tuesday, April 01, 2014 , 0 Comments

Earth Hour had been one of the most successful environmental campaigns to recognize the need to save Mother Earth. Since its beginning eight years ago, more and more people are joining the cause. For that one day, we celebrate Earth Hour in darkness. Most recently, the cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 joined in the campaign to encourage everyday heroes to become champions of the Earth. The cast, led by Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx were at the global flagship Earth Hour event from WWF-Singapore.
