End of the Month

Tuesday, March 31, 2015 0 Comments

Tomorrow is the first day of the month of April and the start of a scorching hot summer. To say that I've been busy the past couple of weeks is an understatement. These days, I find myself so tired that even if I've had some sleep, I still wake up tired. I've squeezed in a few blog posts here and there but forgive the lack of updates as I had to prioritize my tasks.

Teaser Poster for Horror Film, Unfriended

Tuesday, March 31, 2015 , , 0 Comments

Years ago, the term “unfriended” wouldn’t have meant too much of a thing except for what it implies. Now, it brings into mind so many other context meanings, mostly having to do with social media. Here’s one more thing to add into the mix, Unfriended is an upcoming horror film from Universal Pictures that is slated for release on April 29th.

First Look at the Paper Towns Movie Trailer!

Tuesday, March 24, 2015 , , , 0 Comments

I’ve been wanting to write about Paper Towns ever since I saw the announcement for the movie come out. I had read the book by John Green immediately after The Fault in our Stars and thus started my John Green novel phase. The movie is set for release in local cinemas on June 4th and for John Green fans like me, it’s already starred in my movie calendar. True to that author’s writing style, Paper Towns has a set of characters and a plot that is both heart-warming and inspiring. I’m wishing that they’ve captured this in the film.

Brunch at Crisp on 28th

Saturday, March 21, 2015 , 0 Comments

My prelude to March started out pretty good. I had a pretty nice weekend with two of my best friends. I met them over brunch at Crisp on 28th located at BGC. It was only my second time there, my first was during a calligraphy Pen Meet. This time though, I really got to appreciate this little hideaway.

Friday, March 20, 2015 , , 0 Comments

Watching the trailer alone made me tear up a bit, being the dog lover that I am, I am very sure that dog lovers like me will be touched by this film. Max is the latest family adventure film to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures. The slated film release in the Philippines will be on September 02. Max is a precision-trained military dog who was in the frontlines of Afghanistan with his handler, US Marine Kyle Wincott (Robbie Amell).

Now Showing: Insurgent

Thursday, March 19, 2015 , , 0 Comments

What made Divergent a bestselling novel when it first came out was a very strong female character named Tris. The movie adaptation became a success because of the excellent casting of Shailene Woodley. Now she reprises her role in the second film along with her character’s love interest, Four played by Theo James. As a book, Insurgent was able to surpass the success of the first one and I’m hoping this will be the same for the movie. The movie will still be about Tris and how she has grown. There will be new challenges to overcome and new personalities to meet. Who will be their new allies?

2015 Book Review #4 - Sabriel by Garth Nix

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 , 0 Comments

I love playing RPG games and for the characters that I chose to play, I would always be neutral good or lawful good. This is why the Paladin is my favorite class. So it was surprising for me when I grew to like the Abhorsen series by Garth Nix. In it were necromancers, the natural enemies of Paladins. However, these necromancers were good and Garth Nix was able to make a new version of the fantasy world that I found impossible to resist. Sabriel was the first book in the series that I read and it opened up a new world that I immersed myself in the next coming weeks.

Staying Together: A Casual Puzzle Game

Saturday, March 07, 2015 , , 0 Comments

On one of the times that I’ve browsed the Google Play Store for a puzzle game, I stumbled upon this casual game a few days after Valentine’s day. I had been playing a few action and strategy games on my tablet and have been craving for something mind stimulating. I think I may have found the perfect candidate. Staying Together not only has visually pleasing graphics, it can keep you preoccupied for quite a while.

Upcoming Movies: The Cobbler

Wednesday, March 04, 2015 , , 0 Comments

The story of The Cobbler started from the phrase “to walk a mile in another man’s shoes”. How often have you also wondered what that meant? Building up on the idea, Tom McCarthy and Paul Sado slowly weaved a heartfelt story set in Lower East Side of New York. The film brings together Adam Sandler and Dustin Hoffman in this comedy-drama.
