Transformers: The Last Knight Sneak Peek

By Cher Cabula - Friday, April 07, 2017

We were given a special treat last night at the special IMAX theater screening for the 20-minute preview of the movie, Transformers: The Last Knight. To be honest, I really didn’t like the fourth film, Transformers: Age of Extinction because it was too tiring and the girl character there was extremely annoying. So, I tried my best to be more open-minded with this film and maybe, Michael Bay will have the chance to redeem himself. Before the preview, there was around 4-minutes where Michael showed some behind the scenes work for the movie and how it was him who made a special rig to shoot the movie wholly using IMAX cameras and in 3D. I must admit that it would be interesting to see the final cut and see all the hardwork of the technical team.
I was really curious why the movie had that title of The Last Knight and when we were showed scenes of medieval fighting, it didn’t really connect but when there was a mention of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, everything somehow slowly clicked into place. I was going, Oh so that’s why!
Mark Wahlberg is still starring in the show and this time he has a new female lead, Gemma Chan. He also has some kids in tow with him. They remind me the kids from Stranger Things actually. I guess it will be from their characters that Michael Bay will choose to tug on emotional strings.

It’s looking to be that Optimus Prime has gone rogue too and there’s some intense autobot to autobot fighting in some scenes there. We also saw new bots from another timeline and from another caretaker, Anthony Hopkins. So there’s going to be a sort of epic plot, new characters, new themes and new robots in this film. I actually am going to look forward to seeing the movie in June when it comes out in Philippine cinemas. Let’s see if this will be the “going out with a big bang” that Michael Bay was talking about.
