National Novel Writing Month is Here!

It’s the start of November and aspiring writers are probably cranking up their coffeemakers and jotting down notes on possible character profiles and plot scenarios. The National Novel Writing Month takes place annually starting November 1 and ends on November 30. The month-long commitment for writers enables them to write a 175 page novel which is roughly comprised of 50,000 words.

Signing up at the site gives you the opportunity to upload excerpts from your novel for other writers to comment on. It is strongly encouraged that you also upload your word count at the end of the day. The novel is expected to be turned in between November 25 and November 30. So what’s in it for the very industrious writers joining this very creative endeavor? Well it is the first step in getting yourself noticed in the cut-throat business of the literature world. There’s also a handsome winner’s certificate and web badge in store for the deserving winner.
