The tragedy of 9/11 is not something that everyone can forget even for us who don’t even live in the same country but is equally as sympathetic to the destruction and devastation it caused. This event was the backdrop of Jonathan Safran Foer’s best-selling novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Being the excellent novel that it is, the folks at Warner Bros has decided to make it into a movie starring Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and Thomas Horn.

The story is about the adventures of Oskar Schell, who lost his father when the twin towers collapsed. He found a key in his father’s belongings which led him on a quest to find what door it unlocks. His adventures led him to meet a lot of people who had links to his father, indirectly with his mother and to the messy dangerous environment that he’s in. What’s touching is how he sees the world differently and confronts his wildest fears and eventually discover strengths within himself.
